Telephone System
Each room at Forest Road / Candan House has its own Virgin Media telephone line with an individual number able to receive/make
external calls at Virgin Media student rates.
Forest Road - Internet Access
If you are staying at one of the other two blocks Internet
is available from a direct link to the University
Of Essex Accommodation Network by way of a Wireless Microwave Connection.
This gives each occupant of Forest Road house Blocks 1 and 2
the following:

Direct access to a 40 Megabit network link free of charge.
Such links privately cost many thousands of pounds......... |

The network link is on 24 Hours a day, 7 Days
a week so you can keep in close contact with friends and
relatives using email and chat programs such as msn without
worry of a phone bill. |

You can use a computer microphone to make phone calls
over the internet to friends and relatives both in the UK
and Abroad saving you money on your phone bill. To do this
you would need to install programs such as Skype,
MSN Messenger, Yahoo
Messenger or many others ... |
